HOW TO MAKE EASY FLOWER DRINK STIRRERS WITH PIPE CLEANERS

Supplies:

For today’s project we are using one of the most basic craft supplies from your childhood, the pipe cleaner! All you need is one full sized pipe cleaner per flower that you want to make.

Start by bending the first inch of your pipe cleaner end. This will be part of your flower stem. Using the remaining long side of your pipe cleaner, bend a circle to make your first petal. Twist this whole loop to the right two times to secure in place. I used my finger in the middle of the circle to keep the petal sizes consistent.

Make a second loop and twist to the right two times. Now, take the original stem and twist it so that it is facing down (perpendicular to your petals) to get it out of the way. Continue this process of making loops until you have 5 similar sized petals. At this point you should only have a small tail of the pipe cleaner remaining. Bend this piece down to the original stem and twist the two straight pieces together to form the stem.

Your flower toppers should now look like the image above. Use your glue gun to glue on a pom pom to the middle of the flower.

Now stick the stem piece of your pipe cleaner into the top of a paper straw and your flower drink stirrer is complete!

You can simply use your straw to mix up your drink or you can pull off the flower top when you are ready to sip out of the straw.

I personally think these stirrers look cutest served with a mimosa bar! So set out a bottle of chilled bubbly and your favorite type of juice so your guests can help themselves to their ideal champagne to OJ ratio.

Happy hosting! xo Rachael
