Pink Hot Chocolate Mix (with Valentine Printable!)

In honor of National Hot Chocolate Day today (January 31st) and because Valentine’s Day is fast approaching, I figured we could have the best of both worlds with this super simple DIY! Today I am showing you how to make a 3-ingredient hot chocolate mix that is the perfect combination of white chocolate and strawberry flavors. This yummy pink concoction makes a wonderful valentine’s day gift, so I’ll be showing you how I packaged this up with our Free Valentine Printable below. Let’s get started!

You will need:

  • Bag of White Chocolate Chips

  • Strawberry Nesquik Powder

  • Box of Jello-Pudding (I used Vanilla but they make a white chocolate flavor as well if you prefer!)

  • Valentine’s Sprinkles (optional)

  • Mini marshmallows

  • Small Glass bottles with stoppers (I used these)

  • Ribbon

  • Entertain the idea’s Printable Valentine Tags (see link below!)

First begin by finely chopping your white chocolate chips into a powdery consistency (this is best done with a blender, chopper, or food processor. I chopped up the entire bag at this time because I knew I wanted to make a few batches of mix for gifting.

Next, combine 1/3 cup ground white chocolate, 1/2 cup strawberry Nesquik powder, and 2 tbsp vanilla pudding mix into a bowl and stir to combine. I found that my white chocolate chip pieces were still too large at this step so I put the entire mixture of dry ingredients back into my KitchenAid chopper for a second spin and that helped to finely chop everything and mix it together well!

Your mixed powder should look something like the image above. Now all you have to do is bottle the hot chocolate mixture using a funnel. After you fill your bottle, make sure to knock the bottom against your kitchen counter a few times so the powder settles into the bottle (this will leave you room for your toppings!)

One batch of mixture will fill about two of these 5oz bottles half way. Each batch makes roughly 12 cups of hot chocolate.

Now comes the fun decorating part! Print out the Valentine Printable below on white cardstock and cut out however many hearts you will be gifting.

I found some super cute Valentine’s sprinkles in the sale section at Joann Fabrics the other day so I added a handful of sprinkles along with filling the remaining room in the bottle with mini marshmallows (a must for any hot chocolate drinking!). I simply taped the back of the printed heart and attached it to the front of the bottle. This tag includes directions for your recipient to make their hot chocolate.

I also thought it looked cute to add a ribbon bow onto the neck of the bottle for a little extra flare!

And that’s it! Your mini pink hot chocolate valentines are complete and as cute as ever. As I mentioned, one batch of the hot chocolate mixture is enough to fill about two of these bottles half way full, so feel free to repeat the process until you fill as many bottles as you want to gift!

To make your hot chocolate, you or your gift recipient will just mix 2 teaspoons of the hot chocolate mix with 3/4 cup of warmed milk (I used 2% milk for the photos you see here but I also tried it with oat milk which was very tasty! (using an Oat Milk or Almond Milk may reduce the pink coloring a bit, but who doesn’t love any shade of pink??)
