My Updated Halloween Gallery Wall 2023

If you have been around the blog for a while, you will know that I love to change out my gallery wall art with the season! And after staring at the same wall for almost the whole year, it was definitely time for an update.

This past weekend, Daniel and I hosted a Halloween dinner party to mark the start of spooky season (and the first of October). And really what’s the point in throwing a party unless you have a fun theme?? So I (of course) went ALL out and put together an over the top Halloween dinner party, themed vintage witch apothecary. And I’m so excited about how everything turned out! I will have a full post sharing photos from the dinner party out soon, but today I wanted to share my updated gallery wall inspired by the themed party.

If you’re new around here, we have a leaning gallery wall in our apartment living room making it super convenient and fun to change out the artwork and rearrange the frames whenever we want. The gallery wall is made up of 6 of the IKEA MOSSLANDA picture ledges in white (3 on the top shelf and 3 on the bottom shelf). And we have been accumulating all the frames from places like Michaels and IKEA throughout the years.

For the actual artwork, I like to source digital art prints from different artists on Etsy. It makes it fast and super affordable to download the digital prints and have the art printed in whatever size fits the particular frame at my local print shop. You could also use any convenient printing service like Walgreens, CVS, or an online print shop like Vistaprint.

If you’re interested in seeing some of the past gallery walls I’ve put together, check out these previous posts:

While I still do love my previous Halloween gallery wall, it has been a few years so it was time for an update. I also wanted this Halloween wall to fit the apothecary/oddity/dark academia vibes of the dinner party. So here are the links to the specific pieces of artwork that I used in my 2023 updated Halloween gallery wall:

Halloween Apothecary Sign

Autumn Floral Pattern

It’s the Most Spooky Time of the Year

Vintage Ravens

Neutral Plaid Print

Vintage Skeleton Anatomy

IKEA Herbs Art Print
(not available anymore, here is something similar)

Haunted House Ghost

To fit the dinner party theme, you will also notice that I mixed in a few frames that I wrapped in kraft paper for a more mismatched magical workshop feel. Check out my post (coming soon!) sharing a few DIY projects that I created for the dinner party to find out how I made these apothecary mood boards and also the faux bug taxidermy plaques.

To add a bit more magic to the wall, I also added a bat garland that I simply made by cutting out bat shapes from black construction paper and gluing them to a piece of black twine. And I added in some clumps of moss and spanish moss around the edges of the prints to give the illusion of an old witch’s magical apothecary (proceed with caution in using the moss, I now have moss EVERYWHERE in my home lol).

If you’re interested in curating your own gallery wall in whatever theme you would like, I would highly recommend reading the steps that I usually follow on my previous post Halloween Gallery Wall. This is where I shared tips for picking out artwork that works well together and mocking up a layout before having the art printed.

And if Halloween is not your thing, but you want to get in the fall spirit, check out this previous post Friday Favorites: Autumn Etsy Art Prints for a collection of fun digital art prints that I’ve found around the web that would be perfect for a more autumnal themed gallery wall.

Hope you all are having a wonderful start to spooky season!
