How to Make Honey Lollipop Favors

When I think of fall time, one think that comes to my mind is a cozy fall drink. Coffee, hot chocolate, tea, hot apple cider… there are so many options! And while it’s not exactly cool here yet during the day, the evenings have started to cool down making that the perfect time to cuddle up with an episode of Gilmore Girls and a cozy cup of tea!

My current favorites are the Teavana Spiced Apple Cider tea and the Tazo Glazed Lemon Loaf dessert tea. Both so delicious on their own, but they can be kicked up a notch with a small dash of sweetener, like honey! Well today I’m bringing you a super simple recipe for a honey lollipop! This sugary stick has the sweetness of sugar, the flavor of honey, and the practicality of a stir stick all rolled into one. And the look of them is just so adorable, making them a perfect favor for any upcoming fall entertaining you may be doing.

Follow along below to see how I made these homemade Honey Lollipop favors for my fall party!

HOW TO MAKE HOMEMADE HONEY LOLLIPOPS

Homemade Honey Lollipop Supplies:

STEP 1: Combine 1/3 cup honey, 1 cup sugar, and 1 Tbs water into a saucepan on medium low heat. Stir and allow the mixture to heat up until the sugar has dissolved.

STEP 2: Once the sugar is dissolved, raise the heat to medium and attach your candy thermometer (clipped to the side of your pot so it is submerged in the mixture but not touching the bottom of the pot). Bring mixture to a boil until it reaches 295 degrees F. This is the “hard crack stage.”

STEP 3: While the mixture is heating, prepare your silicone mold by giving it a light spray with non-stick spray. Then add your toppings — I used fall sprinkles that I found at Michael’s! Next, set up your wood candy sticks, one in each lollipop mold.

STEP 4: Once your mixture has reached 295 degrees F (hard crack stage), immediately pour the mixture into a heat-safe measuring cup with a spigot. This will make pouring into your mold easier. Carefully fill each lollipop mold with the honey/sugar mixture (be careful with this step as this mixture is EXTREMELY hot!!). Once each mold is filled to the top, carefully turn each lollipop wood handle to make sure it is fully covered with the honey mixture.

STEP 5: Allow your honey lollipops to harden for about a half hour. Once they are hardened, they should easily pop out of the silicone mold. Package them in cellophane treat bags, mine came with the silicone mold kit!

STEP 6: Since I was using these honey lollipops as favors for my fall party, I bought some autumnal tea bags (Pumpkin spice chai) and printed out some cute fall leaf graphics. I taped the leaf to the tea bag and then punched two holes next to each other in the top right corner of the tea bag. I strung a piece of twine through the holes and tied on my honey lollipop.

Now these sugary lollipops can be used as the perfect sweet stir stick for a cup of autumnal tea!

I love a party favor that is both adorable and themed for the party, but also useful and something your guest will actually use and enjoy. And these honey lollipops are just that! They are a perfect treat to pair with your favorite tea for the fall time, but they would also be cute any time of the year with a different festive sprinkle mix inside and a corresponding seasonal tea bag.

I love how these favors turned out and they look adorable setup with my fall party decor! Stay tuned for more DIY projects from the fall party I threw this season with some of my best friends! :)

Hope you’re having a lovely fall season. xo Rachael
