Neighborhood Christmas Lights Scavenger Hunt Printable

There are plenty of ways to celebrate the holidays this time of year. There are elaborate and expensive events like professional light shows and holiday markets. There are office holiday parties and white elephant gift exchanges. But there are also plenty of simple ways to find joy this season like a Hallmark Christmas movie marathon at home or simply going for a walk around your neighborhood to admire all the sparkling Christmas lights.

When I am at home in the midwest, we typically have to drive around in the car because of the cold weather. But here in Los Angeles, you can bundle yourself up and take a hot cocoa to go as you set out to explore your neighborhood on foot!

To make things a bit more interesting this year, I’ve put together a Christmas Lights Scavenger Hunt that you can do with family or friends as your drive or walk around your neighborhood.

There are four different versions of the scavenger hunt BINGO board, each with a unique mix of your typical Christmas light display objects — like “icicle lights” or “candy cane” or “sleigh on the roof” just to name a few. Keep your eyes peeled on your walk or drive for any of the items listed on your board. Then mark them off once something is found!

The object of the scavenger hunt game is to complete a row of five on your game board first to win! Just like in BINGO, you can complete a vertical, horizontal, or diagonal row. And the middle space is a free space for everyone (my gift to you!).

You can download the PDF with all 4 game boards by clicking the button below! Print them off on white cardstock (I printed two per page for a more handheld sized game board), brew up a warm coffee or hot chocolate, head out into your neighborhood, and let the scavenger hunt begin!

If you would like to play along without printing out the PDF, download each individual image below to save to your camera roll! Share a different version with each person playing along and you can mark your completed squares using the iPhone mark up tool right in the photo.

And to add even a bit more festive cheer to your gameplay, we have a new Christmas Spotify playlist that you can listen to as you drive around or simply while you’re busy decking the halls or wrapping presents this year :) Click below to access our Christmas Spotify playlist!

I hope this simple and free scavenger hunt game brings some joy to your holiday season. Happy hunting! xo Rachael
